One-Year Percent Change in People With Medicaid or Other Needs-Based Public Insurance, Estimate

Description
Displays the percent change in the estimated percentage of the civilian, non-institutionalized population for whom poverty status is determined that has health insurance coverage under Medicaid or other needs-based public insurance such as the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) from one year earlier.

Description
Displays the percent change in the current reporting year's reported uninsured health center patients from the previous reporting year (from all health centers reporting 11 or more patients residing in that ZCTA).

Opioid Treatment Programs

Description
Displays the location of all Opioid Treatment Programs certified by SAMHSA to dispense medications for the treatment of substance use disorders. In the UDS Mapper, Opioid Treatment Programs are displayed as blue circles containing an icon with three people. When an icon is clicked on the map, program name and address are available in the Information Card.

Part D Opioid Prescribing Rate

Description
Display is based on the number of Medicare Part D opioid claims divided by the overall claims and multiplied by 100. A qualifying claim is a prescription written and then submitted to be filled.

Penetration of Low-Income Population

Description
Displays the percent of the low-income residents (below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level) in the ZCTA served by any health center (from health centers reporting 11 or more patients residing in that ZCTA). In other words, for each ZCTA the total number of health center patients is divided by the number of low-income residents. Because income is not reported in the UDS at the ZIP Code level, this measure is only an estimate and should be interpreted as such.

Description
Percent of patients of the health center with known income. Includes those patients with income of 100% of the Federal Poverty Level and below. Health centers are required to collect income data on all patients once during the year. If income information is updated during the year, report the most current information available. As a rule, family income is used. Except for minor-consent services, children will always be classified in terms of their parent’s income. Patients for whom the information was not collected within a year of their last visit are reported as “unknown.”
